The unicameral Assembly of the Union of the Comoros is the country's legislative body.

The current Assembly of the Union, formed following elections held on 18 and 25 April 2004, has a total of 33 members. 18 member are directly elected in single member constituencies using the two-round (or run-off) system. The local assemblies on each of the three islands indirectly elect the remaining 15 members. All members serve five-year terms.

Note: The Camp of the Autonomous Islands is not a formal political party, but a coalition of opposition groups organized by the three island presidents and opposed to union president Azali Assoumani.

Djoueria Abdallah is the only woman to hold a seat in the Assembly.

Said Dhoifir Bounou is the current president of the Assembly of the Union. Mohamed Djaanfari is the current vice-president of the Assembly of the Union.
